POWER OUTAGE
On Friday, January 29, 2010, the Pickwick Electric Cooperative service area had approximately 8,000 customers out of power due to the ice storm. PEC employees were dispatched immediately and have worked continuously through the weekend. We received help from Gibson Electric Membership Corporation, Tennessee Valley Electric Cooperative and Mississippi electric employees. With only 12 poles down, the majority of the outages we experienced were due to ice loaded timber falling on the power lines. As of 4 p.m. on Monday, February 1, we have approximately 50 customers still out of power. If your power has not been restored and you have not contacted the PEC office within the last 24 hours, please call 731-645-3411. We appreciate your patience and we are working to get your power back on.
All power was restored at approximately 6 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2010.
