2013 Washington Youth Tour winners selected

Local high school juniors participated in the annual contest and wrote short stories relating to the theme "Electric Cooperatives: Powering Your Community. A total of twelve papers were chosen, six from each high school. The winners are Jake Baker, Brittany Carroll, Brady Herrin, Ezra McKenzie, Grace Durbin and Tanner Garrison from Adamsville High School and Preston Shackelford, Anna Collins, Katie Felker, Allison Dillon, James Martin and Ashley Earnest from McNairy Central High School.
Following a personal interview the first place winners were selected, they are Jake Baker, Brittany Carroll, Preston Shackelford and Anna Collins. These students will join approximately 1,500 students from across the United States for a week long tour of Washington, D.C. while the other students received a cash award.
